My friend Mary Steinhofer and I took a ride to the Wisconsin River to hunt for Pelicans. We lucked out. We saw 11 pelicans on the sandbar. (Last year I so at least 50). At first there were 7 then 4 more came and they were not very welcomed. They were chased away, but they kept flying back. They started fighting and ended up winning a small spot on the sandbar.
